AI ToDo Plus 2.0: AI without a subscription
AI ToDo Plus used to sell its AI as a monthly plan. Version 2.0, out today, drops the plan.
The AI now runs on Apple Intelligence. On a supported iPhone, requests run on the device when they fit; larger ones go to Apple's Private Cloud Compute (iOS 27 or later), which Apple designed so requests aren't stored or accessible to anyone, Apple included. Every result says where it was made. If you'd rather use OpenAI, add your own key: requests go straight from your iPhone to OpenAI, asking it not to store them.
Two new helpers show what that makes possible. Type a brain dump into New Task, like "buy milk, call the dentist tomorrow at 9 and pay rent on the 1st every month", and Split into Separate Tasks turns it into three tasks you review first. The app's own date parser sets "tomorrow at 9" and "the 1st every month". Open a big task and Break Down with AI suggests two to eight steps; you choose which become subtasks.
Pricing is simpler too. Tasks, lists, reminders, repeating tasks, habits, calendar sync (including Skylight wall calendars), widgets, iCloud sync, search and export are free. The Food & Menu and Fitness packs are one-time purchases ($1.99 each in the U.S.), or $2.99 for both. No subscription.
If you used AI ToDo Plus before 2.0, both packs are yours, free, for good. 2.0 no longer offers Basic or Premium; if you still subscribe, your hosted AI keeps working until you cancel. If you used the free hosted AI before 2.0, it stays available until January 31, 2027.
